Under Western Skies Adventures (UWSA) offers 2 unique summer adventure camps for teenage boys ages 12-14 in Montana and ages 15-17 in Alaska. Our overnight boys adventure camp itinerary is fun, fast-paced and action-packed; it introduces teen boys to a variety of MOUNTAIN ADVENTURE SPORTS: The Montana boys Adventure camp is a two week multi sport adventure and the trip in Alaska is a once in a lifetime 30 day itinerary packed with great activities that other adventure programs don’t offer!
Our CampersUnder Western Skies camp is for boys age 12 -17 who have completed 6th, 7th or 8th or are in High school. There are 12 campers in an adventure travel group, led by 2 adult male role model guides (a 1:6 camper to staff ratio). Average fitness and a willingness to commit to the group in the interest of safety and enjoyment are required. No previous tent camping or wilderness expedition experience is necessary for the Montana boys Adventure. The camp is designed for boys new to adventure sports and wilderness camping, everything is taught at a beginner level. The Alaska Wilderness Adventure for Boys is designed for older more experienced boys ages 15-17. It incorporates an exciting itinerary that is unique to UWSA and unlike other teen adventure programs!
Our Camp Staff
We hire “kid tested and parent approved” professional adult male guides to lead our wilderness trips. UWS camp staff guides undergo thorough background checks and are exceptional leaders, role models and teachers. All of our guides have previous experience leading kids outdoors and they are all certified in extended backcountry wilderness medicine first aid and patient care and some have added swift water rescue, lifeguard, Leave No Trace, backcountry food handlers and avalanche certifications. Our wilderness camp staff guides are charismatic, fun, organized, and above all put safety 1st!
UWSA Adult Adventures
Here at UWSA we believe that our lives our made richer by healthy doses of adventure and excitement. That's why we have started offering a new line of adult guided trips. Our menus are gourmet, our itineraries are action packed, diverse and unique. We incorporate the same ideals our boys programs were founded on with a bit of grown up individuality. Wilderness skills, skills in navigation, river running, cross country skiing in rarely visited locations. Come open your own door to adventure and see whats waiting for you!
